Accolades, Reflections & What’s Next

As an artist, there are few moments more meaningful than seeing your work resonate with others. Over the past year, I’ve been deeply honoured to receive critical acclaim from curators and writers who have engaged with my paintings. Their words have not only encouraged me but also affirmed the vision behind Eman’s Gallery and my belief in art as a language of emotion, colour, and transformation.

International curator and arts writer Lee Sharrock recently described my work as a practice that “bridges cultures and disciplines, uniting colour and emotion with a rare alchemy.” Coming from someone who has written extensively about leading contemporary artists, her recognition is both humbling and energising.

This kind of feedback matters. It is not about vanity; it is about knowing that the risks of stepping away from a thirty-year corporate career to return to painting full-time were worth it. Every canvas, whether oil, acrylic, or mixed media, is part of a dialogue between my vision and the viewer’s response. To know that dialogue is being seen and understood at an international level is a powerful affirmation.

Looking ahead, I’m excited to share something special: my full interview with Lee Sharrock, originally published on Culturalee. Starting next week, I’ll be publishing a new blog post twice a week—one question and answer at a time. Together, these 13 conversations will reveal the inspirations, philosophies, and processes behind my work.

✨ Stay tuned for the first instalment, “Why I Returned to Painting Full-Time.”
In the meantime, you can explore my Critical Acclaim page and view my original artworks.
